Ok, so I have a weird appreciation for fish. If you’ve known me for any amount of time, you know this. Probably because I have made you come with me to purchase one or five. This is another Chinese Fighting Fish (or male Beta). Some of them are just so stunning I can’t help but photograph them, maybe this will be a new series for me.. hmm.. stay tuned.
So I’ve been spending a lot of time around horses and I guess I’ve taken up riding as a bit of a hobby - although I wouldn’t say I’m great at it just yet. One thing I am realizing is that it takes a lot of time to really be able to read a horse and understand their mood or what they are thinking. But the more time you spend around the barn and the people that take care of them, the more confident and comfortable you become in yourself and the horses. However, I like to keep the horror stories I’ve been told in the back of my mind. Too much confidence is never a good thing, especially when it comes to an 1000 lb animal. You really have to pay close attention to eyes and ears for different expressions. I find it fascinating (and a little intimidating). They are similar to solving a puzzle, one that could throw you to the ground like it’s nothing, without a moments notice.
I had the honour of shooting my second cousin’s wedding a few weeks ago. We had a blast… to say the least. All the best Meg and Bill!
I haven’t posted in FOREVER, so I have to share the following cause I think they are hilarious. I did a favour for a good friend of mine shooting their business’ Christmas Party Santa Photos for the kids. Here are some of my favs….
The Search for the Perfect Trampoline
So recently I have been kept busy doing some pretty awesome assisting work, which has made me really miss shooting. I have had an idea for a creative in my sketch book for awhile and I am pleased to say that I am finally taking the initiative to find the materials I need. This consists of the obvious… lights, stands, soft box, power pack AND a good sized trampoline. Curious yet? Well you’ll just have to stick around and find out.

Surreal Self Portrait
This shot is composed of 3 different pieces. 1. Myself, shot in studio on Mimiya (pine needles, twigs and dirt in my hair). 2. My Grandpa’s antlers from back home, from a buck he shot himself. 3. The background was shot out of focus in a forest somewhere in Oakville.
